I was named after the great George Stevens film, so naturally I grew up in the South. The state of Alabama was home for most of my life, but nowadays I hang my hat in Tacoma, Washington. Growing up I was always leaning into art in one way or another. I spent the first twenty or so years of my life learning, usually the hard way, how that I wasn’t made to do “this” or “that”. Eventually I figure out that things made the most sense with a camera in one hand and pen in the other. At the end of the day, I love storytelling. Every person, every place, every thing eventually becomes part of a story: all the memories we hold, all the things we’ll tell our children, everything that coming generations will read about. So I believe every story deserves to be told, and told well.
